I met Cos for lunch today and wandered about Chapel Street on my own after that.. I decided to go for a walk because:
a) I had an hour to spare with my parking
b) I shouldn't have had that small chocolate cake and needed a walk
c) Thought I could find something worthwhile reading over the next week and a half
Went to Borders..
It must be the Christmas cheer (or lack of) when I heard a mother using the word FUCK to her 10 year old daughter. I'm no saint but I don't believe children that age should be sworn at. Whether they already know how to use the word is of course, another matter. But that particular scene.. the daughter on the chair with a book looking at her mother with big eyes, the mother throwing a hissy fit and swearing at the daughter for not moving... just looked quite wrong.
Quick move along, nothing to see
And I gave in to the season and bought myself a pair of inexpensive shorts for the hot weather.
This year's Christmas seems a little un-Christmassy. I suppose it's different when the family isn't nearby to celebrate it with. It's different to not have to be part of the mad rush of getting presents for the kids. The carols on the radio do nothing for me and frankly is beginning to annoy me. Alot.
So anyway, merry christmas to one and all. May it bring you much joy and may you have a fantastic 2004 to look forward to. :)
Yippee do dae!
