Twist of events

It's strange how events occur, events you'd never thought possible.
I received an SMS about this last night
And it only become a reality for me when I read it for myself this morning.
Being away from home for most of the last 8 years, huge events at home don't hit me as hard as it should.
(Think SIA hijack, crash of silkair, discovery of terrorist plans on Yishun MRT, etc)

It's a strange feeling to be watching your own country go through the motion of events which you would never thought would occur.
Ask any Singaporean about what they think about home, apart from the strict laws and regulations, security and safety is our pride and joy.

Now, it's all happening. Nowhere seems as safe.

Just give me a warm, dark hole to crawl and curl up in.
