Asphalt, rain and melancholy

There's something to be said about driving in the rain
The dull mechanic sound of wipers, throwing the music off beat
Drenched asphalt, car tyres running over puddles formed over the poorly maintained roads of Toorak

Is it just melancholy I feel?
Perhaps the disappointment that I've missed out on a job - yet again
Or the feeling of a loss of friendship as another friend contemplates departing the country

Indeed there is something to be said about driving in the rain - it's more like a feel.

Perhaps it's the fact that you're nice, warm (assuming heater is working) and dry (assuming ur roof doesn't leak) inside and it's pissy and cold outside but yet you're soldering on.

Would love to hammer the corners but must get brakes fixed first and better tyres. Pssst... my fantasy: sometimes I just go for a cruise when it's heavily pissing outside... sad i know.
