Yes.. its time for a whinge.
Why is it that companies like their staff to clear their leave, but not want to give you the time off when you do want to clear your leave?
One example? Hints are dropped by management when the team takes turn to clear their leave during quiet periods. So when are we allowed to take leave?
Results are released on a friday evening at 5pm. We need to have students information/details/ completed by Monday 9am. But management is hinting that they don't want us (as in the team) to come in on Saturday to clear the work..
I don't get this. You're damned if you do and damned if you don't.
Did a swop this morning.
Arrived with my black knight, left with the shining armour.
60kms later, my shining armour revs when changing gears. (It would be great if I had an exhaust pipe to match it!)
Emits a slight burnt smell (could it be the pads?), and a weird hissing sound from the exhaust (indigestion maybe).
I'm not sure if I've just jinxed myself, but fingers crossed.
Poo.
Happy Valentine's Day indeed!
Went car shopping yesterday.
What was meant to be a look and a test drive became a purchase.
I'm not sure what it is about car salesman but the art of purchasing a car is such a game.
A charade to believe that:
1) You are getting a fantastic deal
2) You win the game, because they gave you what you want
3) The car salesman is your best friend within 15 minutes
1 hour and a test drive later, I am almost a proud owner of a new holden astra city. A brand new 2003 model.. No, I couldn't afford the latest model unfortunately!
Yes, I like to believe I did well and got a great deal.
Subject to financial approval, I could well be spending Valentine's Day with my new car.
I went to work, 2.5hrs late.
Why?
Because I forgot to change the time on my mobile, which is also my alarm clock. It didn't occur to me immediately that anything was wrong. Not the radio, which wasn't the usual breakfast show, not the 2 clocks in the house (which btw, I turned backwards because I thought the batteries were dying!) It was only when I hopped into the car did it occur to me that 3 clocks telling the times weren't lying.
I casually strolled into work.. only a few noticed my unusual lateness..
Happy Birthday to me!
I'm 25 and old.
old old old
hehehe...
How did I celebrate it?
Dinner and grocery shopping...
This morning, I woke up late again.
No alarm clock as I forgot to set it before I slept last nite.
I went to the doctor's as I've suddenly got a sore throat...
*ahem*
