I welcomed 2006 with a very old friend.. an old friend of almost 20 years.
(Gawd, doesn't that sound like a long time?)
But it was great to see her again, to catch up on the past year
To hear how we have grown up to the adults we are;
To know of our aspirations - ones we know are reality, not simply ideals we had when we were impressionable 16 year olds.
Turning 27. That sounded a long way away when I was 16.
I won't make any resolutions for the new year. Why make any when they'll be forgotten in 3 months?
I only ask that it be a better year than 2005 - happiness and health for those that matter to me most.
The past 2 weeks have been a dream come true;
I finally stepped on European soil, did bits of travel on my own.
Having spent a whole day at the Vatican - I felt almost religious!
Spent ridiculous amounts of money on eyewear, clothing and shoes.
I think that was a great prelude to a start of 2006!
